FOUNDING ATTORNEY

Sarah Weissbard

Sarah Weissbard earned her undergraduate degree from Florida International University and her law degree from Nova University Center for the Study of Law in Fort Lauderdale. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1979 and has been fighting for injured Floridians ever since.

After years of practice, Sarah founded the Accident & Personal Injury Law Center in Hollywood, Florida, dedicating her firm exclusively to people seriously injured through the negligence of others across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties.

Over 47 years, she has resolved more than 4,000 cases across personal injury, wrongful death, products liability, toxic torts, automobile negligence, and professional malpractice — including a $10 million settlement and a $2.5 million bad faith verdict against a major auto insurer.

Her clients describe her the same way: relentless, accessible, and deeply invested in their outcome. That reputation took 47 years to build. She protects it on every single case.

Amazing service, very accommodating, and kept me well-informed throughout the whole process. I highly recommend them to first-timers in this matter, as I was myself and feel very secure and satisfied with their service.

ATTORNEY & REGISTERED NURSE

Mary Jo Meives

Mary Jo Meives earned her law degree from Detroit College of Law in 1983 and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College of Detroit. Most attorneys understand personal injury. Mary Jo understands the medicine behind it.

Before practicing law, she worked as a registered nurse in emergency medicine, critical care, coronary care, and internal medicine. That background gives her something most personal injury attorneys simply do not have: the ability to read medical records the way a clinician does, challenge expert testimony on its merits, and accurately evaluate the true extent of her clients’ injuries.

Over 43 years she has built her practice around the cases that demand that expertise, including medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, truck and automobile accidents, premises liability, and defective products and drugs.

She is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest peer review rating an attorney can receive, and is a member of the Florida Justice Association, American Association for Justice, National and Florida Associations of Women Lawyers, American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and the Florida Nurses Association.

Mary Jo made me feel heard and supported during a stressful time, and I really appreciated her dedication and attention to detail. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone needing help with a personal injury case.
